Some of you are going to hate me!

I've switched to Beta.

I felt a little bullied into it by the constant reminders (felt more like doom-laden warnings) and it remains to be seen how it works out. In the end, I felt like I had no choice. Adapt - or suffer the consequences ...

Please let me know if you have any problems. I won't know what to do about them, of course, but at least I'll know!

Oh and Sharon - please don't hate me ...

Looks OK to me, Debi.

So far the only problem I've had by switching to beta is that I keep having to sign in to post. It's so annoying!

So far - posting's MUCH quicker. And I get comments emailed to me showing which post they pertain to. Like that!

Bit of weirdness round font size etc ... but sort of ok now ...

And some comments come up as anonymous - though I know who you are! Apparently you have to sign in (?) each time to start with until you're recognised about a week later. (I don't understand that either!)

I was blogging for the best part of two years using the 'regular' Blogger. I recently switched to Beta and have found it more reliable, as well as having a cool way of getting html code into the template. It sure beats all that fannying around we had to do in the old blogger.

Hi, Don and welcome. You've been around on the blogosphere for 2 years??? What kept you? Anyway, you're here now ...

I have no idea about the significance of getting html code into the template - but if you say it's good, I'll take your word for it ...

Don hides under a bushel - a shy blogger as far as I know! He has a nice line in 'damp' posts that should be right up your street Alper!
Anyway, welcome to Betaworld, a hang out for the creme de la creme - except Don.

I missed this one when you posted it. Hate you? Not possible. Have the needle slightly with you? Er.... nope, not even that.

It's Blogger I have my issues with and I've already emailed them to say that they're discriminating against non Bloggers by not linking to our blogs but all they say is that they're working on it but surely it can't be that bloody difficult? Grrr. [Calm down Sharon - think of your blood pressure!]

Hate you, Debi? Please.

And can we give poor Don a break? He seems like a good sort...and not the least bit damp, beta or no.

Hey Debi, I recently switched to Beta too, I was dreading it, but it was quite painless in end, and I mostly like it, though I have reported to them that sometimes now when I comment on others' blogs, my comment links to 'profile not available', when my profile is very much available! Have seen this with other beta converts. Also, some people's comments on my pre-beta blog have been changed to anonymous. All quite bizarre.

What do you mean with 'about time', CT? They're discriminating against people like me and that's BAAAAAAD. They should all be hung, drawn and quartered by close of business today. (I am, as you may have guessed, not in a very good mood).

I have also just done the dreaded switch and found it far less painful than feared. Of course it is still all Greek to me - at least you've figured out how to do labels and such like already...

nmj - welcome. Thanks for commenting. Do I feel yet another link coming on???

Confy and Sharon - you know I love you both dearly but you are NOT allowed to squabble on my blog if you please. Or even if you don't ...

So far my beta foray seems to have been charmed. (Though I'm probably toast now that I've said that and brought myself to the gremlins'attention.) Labels are just THERE. Posts take milliseconds. Haven't noticed anything untoward except Sharon's compaint re URL not linking. But, honey bun, I KNOW it's irritating but isn't it in your interests to do the necessary so that people can link straight back to see who's making your comments? Ouch!
