A Hay-sty post (groan)

Emails, phone calls, printing, lists, packing ...

... dash into kitchen to make boys' lunches for tomorrow and realise ...

... EEEKKK!!!

I promised to make FB 2 cakes to take in on Friday to share as it's his birthday next week.
(Yes, 2 - there are 28 kids in his class.)

So ... chocolate cake and lemon cake are now in oven.

Lads are shrieking - Liverpool's scored.
Do I have time to care about that?
Only if the jumping up and down makes the cakes sink.
They still have to be iced, dammit!

Anyway - I know where I'm staying now.
Good innit?
Except - gasp - no smoking policy ...

And also I have more of an idea what my role is.
I'm press!
That means that as a lit blogger/author I'm representing the blogosphere ...
ie you lot.

So I hope you're going to follow my progress and show them what we're made of.

The hotel looks lovely, but it is quite a way between Ross-on-Wye and Hay-on Wye, are they providing a blogmobile too?!

How exciting that you're going! Lots of lovely people this weekend - look forward to hearing about your experiences.

Ms Alper, our roving reporter!
That hotel looks a bit posh, Debi - make the most of it and no nicking the toiletries!

Just smoke out the window; that's what I do! Anyway, I'm glad your boys were cheering for the right team. I'm sad now (but very happy for you). Go there Rover.

Fishcakes. Just had them for tea.
Wow this is so exciting!I hope you give us a daily rundown. I want to see your raised profile. I want to see you on News at Ten and in the Sunday papers. Don't forget to take photos and be PUSHY. Blow your own trumpet - and everything else. I'm sure everyone else will. Enjoy yourself!

Briliant stuff, Debi - and great hotel, the Chicken knows it and has taken afternoon tea there. You'll have a blast - and don't listen to Minx, nick the toiletries, that's why they're there - they expect you to take 'em! :-)

toiletries and little jam pots duly nicked. Well, I couldn't let you down, could I?
