Apologies for the paucity of posts. I'm snowed under with work, which is great but leaves little time for blogging.
I also have a very unwelcome distraction that is taking up time and energy.
For legal reasons, I can't go into details at this point, but I will just say this:
I will NOT allow my children to be verbally abused (First Born) or physically assaulted (Little Guy)
in the street ...
by a teacher ...
at a neighbouring school ...
who appears to assume that, as they are state school children, they deserve no better.
It just ain't gonna happen.

Only wanted to mention that unless you are actually in a court case or injuncted then you can say whatever you like about what happened to you or your family.
Funny how in the stereotypes it's always the youngsters who do the yelling and fighting in the streets, isn't it? Power to your righteousness, Warrior Mum!

My sympathies and my support. All bullying is bad. When perpetrated by a teacher... Frankly, if this happened to my kids in the street, I'd be straight onto the police.
We were, Graeme. Sadly this seems like it might not provide the straightforward resolution we had hoped for. We'll have to see ...

as you know, deb, i'm on the education committee of one of the london livery companies and we deal with schools in london on a regular basis - both state and private. i'm extremely surprised to learn that the school concerned is taking the very dangerous course of attempting to defend the indefensible. i wonder if the governors have been apprised of the situation? and if the staff discipline and complaints committee is involved with the individual. is the press involved yet? because, frankly, it can only be a matter of time. i hope the management team are going to do the right thing - if not, they risk tarnishing the reputation of the school beyond repair.

That is absolutely outrageous - I can't see how on earth anyone could defend such behaviour. I agree with Meg - get the governors involved and the press too. Good luck xxx
