Two new reviews blast their way into the blogosphere

Maxine and Crimeficreader have both written really thoughtful reviews of Nirvana Bites on their blogs.
Amazing, isn't it? Without the blogging they would never have heard of me, let alone read my books. Now they've read, enjoyed (so they assure me, though I feel awful about inducing Cfr's nightmare!) and we all move on together.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The reviews are icing on the cake. Making these connections and mutually supporting each other are the real McCoy.
(Pssst - anyone know who McCoy is? Assuming he's not the crisp man or the one in Star Trek ...)

Aw, Debi, it could be the weather you know...

But you do take the reader close to the gritty reality of life for those less fortunate than many of us and the gritty reality of the impact of crime.

No one could, (or should) accuse you of glamorising crime. If they did, they'd be well wide of the mark. Man's potential for inhumanity to man is well in evidence in Nirvana Bites. I don't think anyone could remain unmoved by a certain scene that involves a hospital visit... And that's just one scene. There's a second scene that will last in my memory, but to go there would be too close to a spoiler, so I'll stop right now.

"McCoy" - missed that one before. Apparently more than one potential option when it comes to origin:

Ahh now, yes, mmm, the Real McCoy, well that would be McCoy Mcoy (often referred to as McCoy 'och aye' McCoy) but not to be confused with Mackay McCoy who was not the real McCoy but a false McCoy. But then again Macnugget McCoy was fairly real unlike his cousin the seventh Earl of McCoyMcCoy who was really a Mactavish McCoy. But then, geneology states that McCoy Mcoy's mother's, brother's, aunty's, uncle's sister's friend was in fact the real McCoy, but who gives a shit really.
Anyway this ancient name translates as, umm, The Genuine McCoy - it's the real thing!!

Well, thanks, McMinx. Most elucidating. I didn't know that ...
You haven't by any chance been at the McHerb, have you?
