- Wearing boots in summer
- Extreme sports
- Non-extreme sports
- Twitter (and Facebook, MySpace, Bebo et al - anything except blogging in other words)
- Low-slung strides
- Gas guzzlers
- People who leave taps running
- Shutter shades
- Mornings
- Instant coffee
- Town houses
- Ironing
I'm with you on all of it except Twitter/FB! Mornings, instant coffee, taps running, grrrrrhhh. I would add: -people who say they are into spiritual healing but are mean
ReplyDelete- why not everyone loves short stories as much as me
- non-pet-lovers
Off to make real coffee to make the morning bearable!
Many words of truth there, Debi... but Twitter IS blogging, just blogging lite.
ReplyDeleteIn almost total agreement. And how about writers who say they don't read?
ReplyDeleteTania - ooer - afraid I'm not a pet person.
ReplyDeleteBrian - oh, I know, I know. I sort of do get it but know I mustn't go there.
Sue - yep, that's a good 'un.
I'm also going to add uncomfortable shoes and cardboard burgers.
Parties where the music's too loud for conversation. ~Miriam
ReplyDeleteI'm with Tania on the short stories thing, but more so, when people who write automatically say, with great conviction: short stories, nobody buys those.
ReplyDeleteAnd rudeness.
And mornings, yip.
Oh and champagne.
Unqualified/uneducated hate.

Debi, as long as you are not a shrink-back-in-horror-when-I-mention-my-cat kind of person who makes snide remarks about drowning or kicking them then we're ok! :)
ReplyDeleteCan relate to most of those, Debi. Especially mornings. I even have a tee shirt that says I don't do mornings.
ReplyDeleteMy additions:
-Litterbugs
-Aluminum smelters on a tiny Caribbean island.
Oooh, some really good ones here, but some I agree less with.
ReplyDeleteWelcome, Miriam. Nice to see you here. Afraid I quite like those parties (few and far between these days) and always felt ok about saving conversations for other occasions.
Nik - Yes, yes and yes, but I'll sip a glass of champers given the opportunity.
Tania - cats are The Only Permissible Pets as far as I'm concerned. Though goldfish are just about acceptable.
Liane - First Born has a t-shirt that says, 'No - I'm not on f*$%ing Facebook'. But then he also has a pair of shutter shades ...
Don't get the need for Ipods, MP3 players - can't people just be quiet for a bit.
ReplyDeleteAnyone ever tried a house rabbit for a pet - great! Sorry to wonder off the point a bit.
I often wear boots in the summer. I just prefer them to shoes. Not wearing them now though - it's too hot. Agree with you about almost everything else - though I do have a MySpace and Facebook profile.
ReplyDeleteOne more - leaf blowers! Surely they are a massive waste of energy. Someone once told me it was to do with injuries from sweeping but lugging one of those on one shoulder cannot possibly be any better...
ReplyDeleteKath - feel free to wander any time. It's good for the brain.
ReplyDeleteMarie - still don't get the boots ...
LKHF - a case of technology not providing any obvious improvement? Boys and toys ...
